Terms of Service

Last updated: April 19, 2026

Split the List ("the Service") is a free application for tracking shared expenses among family and friends. By creating an account and using the Service you agree to these terms.

1. The Service is provided "as is"

The Service is provided to you on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, reliability, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability. You use the Service at your own risk. We make no promises that the Service will always be available, that data will never be lost, or that calculated balances will be free of errors.

2. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the creators or operators of the Service be liable to you for any damages arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or the Service shall not exceed US$0, reflecting that the Service is provided free of charge.

3. Exclusion of indirect damages

In no event shall the creators or operators of the Service be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation lost profits, lost data, business interruption, loss of goodwill, or other intangible losses — whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

4. Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
